Today – What are you doing?

April 15th, 2005

Alrighty. Today is a pretty interesting day. For instance, here are two things that have happened on April 15th in the past:

Titanic Sinks – At 2:20 a.m. on April 15, 1912, the British ocean liner Titanic sinks into the North Atlantic Ocean about 400 miles south of Newfoundland, Canada.

At 7:22 a.m. on April 15, Abraham Lincoln, the 16th president of the United States, dies from a bullet wound inflicted the night before by John Wilkes Booth, an actor.

It’s been pretty busy lately. I almost feel like I’m behind. We’re only just now about to revamp the games and cyragon website. That’s only been in the works for a year. We have an amazing amount of web projects going on too.

How did the month of April get booked already? And most of May? Such is life.

Cyragon has decided to start running with the aim of doing a local 5k. We’ll see how this works out. If we can do a 5k, then why not a 10k or something (like the CRIM)? It’ll be interesting to see how it goes.

More Quotes…

April 14th, 2005

I was doing a little research and was surprised (amazing, isn’t it?) to find these quotes from President George W Bush:

“American foreign policy must be more than the management of crisis. It must have a great and guiding goal: to turn this time of American influence into generations of democratic peace. ”
-George W. Bush, speech, November 19, 1999

“The case for trade is not just monetary, but moral. Economic freedom creates habits of liberty. And habits of liberty create expectations of democracy. ”
-George W. Bush, speech, November 19, 1999

These are not just pre-9/11, but almost a year before he was elected. Freedom and democracy will clearly be the hallmark of his presidency.

While we’re at it, here are two more:

“America has never been an empire. We may be the only great power in history that had the chance, and refused – preferring greatness to power and justice to glory. ”
-George W. Bush, speech, November 19, 1999

“Whether we bring our enemies to justice or bring justice to our enemies, justice will be done. ”
-George W. Bush, September 20, 2001
